Refer a friend

Send someone up the hill. Take it off your next stay.

Almost everyone who books Acorn Ridge heard about it from somebody who had already been. There is no sign at the end of the drive and no advertising budget — word of mouth is the whole thing. So it seems only right that the people doing it get something back.

Your friend gets

$100 off

On a stay of four nights or more. They enter one code at checkout and it comes straight off the total.

You get

$200, then $300

A credit toward your next stay of four nights or more, sent once they have checked out. The second friend you send in the same year is worth more than the first — $300 is a full night at our base rate.

First friend who stays $200 off your next stay
Second, in the same year $300 a full night on us
Most you can earn in a year $500 per household

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell them about the cabin

Send them acorn-ridge.com. If you want something more useful than a link, our three guest guides are the same ones you had — where to eat, what to do, and which trails are actually open.

  2. 2

They book direct and enter ACORN100

There is a box for it on the checkout page. $100 comes off their stay before they pay a cent. Nothing to print, nothing to redeem later.

  3. 3

    Tell us it was you

Fill in the short form below so we know who to thank. When your friend checks out, we email you a personal code — $200 the first time, $300 the second — good for two years, on any stay of four nights or more.

Why the credit comes after the stay, not after the booking

Bookings move. People change dates, and occasionally they cancel. Waiting until your friend has actually been means we never have to take a thank-you back, which is a conversation neither of us wants to have.

Tell us who you sent

This is the only part we cannot do ourselves — the code your friend uses does not carry your name with it. Thirty seconds, and it is what triggers your credit.

We use your friend's details to match the booking and nothing else. We will not email them unless you ask us to. See our privacy policy.

The small print, in plain English

  • Your friend's stay has to be four nights or more, and so does the stay you spend your credit on. A credit that could buy a single night would cost us more to turn the cabin around than the night is worth.
  • The credit is issued after your friend checks out, not when they book.
  • It is good for two years from the day we send it, and it is yours — if you would rather give it to somebody else, just tell us the name.
  • Two credits per household per calendar year — $200 for the first, $300 for the second, $500 in all. The ladder resets every January. We cap it there deliberately: it keeps this a thank-you rather than something either of us has to report. If you send us a third family in the same year, tell us — we will find another way to thank you, and we always have.
  • One code per booking. Our booking system takes a single code at a time, so these cannot be stacked on each other or on another offer.
  • It is for friends. It does not apply to people who live at your address, to your own bookings, or to a guest we are already talking to about those dates.
  • We can change or withdraw the program at any time. Anything already earned still stands.

Two questions people ask

What if two of us referred the same person? We credit whoever told us first. It has not come up yet, and if it ever does we will probably just credit you both and call it a good problem.

Do I have to have stayed to refer someone? Yes — the credit is a thank-you to guests. If you have not been yet, come and stay, then send everyone you know.

Questions about any of this go to reservations@acorn-ridge.com and reach both of us.
