Who we are
Acorn Ridge is a short-term rental in Sevierville, Tennessee, owned and operated directly by Joe Thielmann and Kathryn Parciak. There is no management company and no listing platform involved. You can reach us through the contact page, which lists our email addresses.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email, and anything you write in the message.
- When you book: booking details, contact information and payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you visit: nothing. We run no analytics on this site — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no visitor tracking of any kind. Our web host keeps standard server logs, as every web host does. We do use Google Search Console, which tells us which Google searches showed our pages; it reads Google’s own search data, puts nothing in your browser, and never identifies you.
What we do with it
We use your information to answer your questions, manage your reservation, and meet legal and tax obligations. If you opt in, we send occasional emails about openings and things to do; you can unsubscribe from any of them.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers we need to run the booking — principally our reservation platform and Stripe, which processes the payment.
How long we keep it
We keep as little as we can for as long as we have to, and no longer:
- Booking records — names, stay dates and payment records — for seven years, because they support our tax returns.
- Inquiries that never became bookings — 24 months, so we recognize you if you come back to us.
- Contact form messages — 12 months.
- Mailing list details — until you unsubscribe, and then removed promptly.
Most of this data is not sitting on a computer of ours. Bookings and payment details live in our reservation platform and Stripe, and their retention rules apply alongside ours. You can ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep.
Your choices
Contact us to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
We use as few as we can. The booking widget on this site sets a cookie so that your dates and details survive while you move between pages — without it, the booking form would forget you halfway through. That is the only cookie this site needs to work.
We run no advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share anything about your visit with advertisers. That is also why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner: there is nothing here to consent to. If that ever changes — if we add analytics or advertising — we will say so on this page and ask you first.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the bottom of this page.
Version 1.0 · Effective 1 August 2026 · Last updated 1 August 2026
We keep every earlier version of this page. The terms that apply to your stay are the ones in force on the day you booked, not the ones you are reading now — if they have changed since, ask us and we will send you the version you agreed to.
